Vampiress (before the light)

A vampiress once roamed alone,
looking for love, far away from her home.
Many men had come, and many had gone.
Some she had turned; some she had slowly
drained of their blood from stem to stern.
But after one thousand years unloved, she burned
with desire, for the true love that she yearned;
And when she found him he wouldn’t be turned,
and to her home, with him, she would return.
So she traveled far in search of love
with purple lipstick and black silk gloves;
In the day she slept, but the night was hers.
She was beautiful — with long dark hair,
manicured nails, and a seductive stare.
She went to places with many men there—
The first three she met, they offered sex,
but she drained their blood, and took their breath;
The same for the two after, and then the next.
But the seventh man, he took her hand,
and gave a kiss like a gentleman;
At first they dined with vintage wine,
then they slowly danced; his eyes were kind.
The dawn approached, so she had to go,
but before she left she let him know;
I am a vampiress, and I am old.
My heart does not beat, and my flesh is cold.

He said, My lady you are beautiful,
and now that I know what you are,
still I am not fearful; I promise forever to love you.

He then took her lovingly in his embrace, and said,
My love, let us leave this place.
Your love in darkness will be my fate;
but before the light, let us leave this place.
She looked at him and kissed his face,
and said, My love, let us leave this place.

Rescue My Heart

Rescue me from the torment of uncertainty,
And with the sweetness of your lips,
Tell me emphatically that you love me—
Lest I perish from heartbreak, unloved and in a state of insanity,
In tears, reaching for illusions of you—
Embracing nothingness, and telling you again and again
That you are my angel, and that you are beautiful.

Let Go

The tears she cries come from a deep sorrow that wounded her long ago.
She is in pain, but because her spirit is beautiful, sometimes it does not show.
She is an angel, who will transcend and touch the heavens, but she does not yet know.
She has held on for so long, but to heal, she will learn to let go.

Love Revisited

Love; a word often overused, misconstrued, and mischaracterized.

Love; it manifests in actions, speech, and the conveyance of the eyes.

Love; sometimes it is held in secrecy, but it is difficult to disguise.

Love; in the heights of intimacy, it is expressed intensely and beautifully.

Love; it is envied, even by the powerful and the wealthy.

Love; it cannot be attained with assets or any amount of money.

Love; in its essence and purity, it is transcendent, ethereal, and heavenly.

Secret Desires

She is with him, but she is unmoved in her responses,
For he is not her desire, but another man she fantasizes.
Intermittently, she feigns pleasure through spurious euphoric noises;
She cannot stop thinking of him and is taken in her longing.
Her spirit burns, in the fire of her unceasing yearning;
She is not his — but she truly wants to belong to him.

Euphoric Surrender

She gives in to pleasure,
Taken by the passion of his kisses
And the depth of his measure.
She knows that he wants her,
Driving the instincts of his primal stamina
With every provocative word that she whispers.
She closes her eyes, releasing all of her;
Wildly, reverberating sounds of rapture,
In euphoric erotic surrender.

Mirrored Pain

See yourself in her.
Her struggles.
Her agony.
Her alienation from family.
Feel the levels of her depths
in every breath.
Feel the heavy weight
of her anxiety and stress.
Hear the lament in her speech
and in yourself.
Revisit your childhood trauma,
and take heed that her story
may be similar.
Go past her exterior,
and see all the elements
that make her.
